He said so far that intensification has slowed as convection is waning near the center, still said it should still be near hurricane strength if not above it when reaching S FL/Keys. Going with the NHC on the track.

So he thinks most of the impact will be in the Keys as opposed to the mainland?

Yep.

Just said "not worse than Katrina, probably not even as bad" for Miami-Dade and Broward. Still watching it though because it could be close.

Ugh. He's darned good and that is a major concern when he's on the subject. I've always liked his forecasts and his work and that's not good when he's on the story.


Guess we're going to finally get some overdue rain here. :eek:
