Kevin so do you think that Collier is likely to see TS Strength winds?

Kevin - I like the graphics. Unfortunately, the path seems pretty plausible too. I must say that I"m not thrilled if it verifies as I'll be in at least 60+mph winds most likely.

As always, excellent graphics. Somewhat I agree with you but I will be a little more concervative taking Rita's center near Key West.

Kevin:
Your forecast seems quite plausible.
Selfishly, I need to see the turn to the West quicker.
I never anticipated that at 8 PM they would say it is moving NW and had moved .5N to .2W since 5 PM.
From my own area's standpoint; I need to see the West turn sooner rather than later.
Plus the more NW it goes the more the Hurricane Force windfield creeps into Dade County.
I kinda like the original south of the Keys forecast track the best!!

Rita Should stay South Of Miami Dade County. The Northern component will eventually change more towards the wnw, then W as the hours pass.

Nice job, as always, Kevin! Not that I'm crazy about the actual forecast for Collier and Lee counties.

Good deal, Kevin....many thanks!

Hi Hurricane Queen...our neighborhood was always considered North Naples before the explosive growth occurred north of Imokkalee Rd!

Glad to be part of the "team."

I'm game for a get together. You're the youngest and I'm most probably the oldest and there should be plenty in between. Ooops, I forgot, Trader Ron is the eldest of which I am aware. (sorry for giving that away, Ron).LOL

Would love to try for a get together sometime!

Hmmmm...not sure where I fit into the group age-wise...I'm thinking somewhere in the mid range!

Keeping good thoughts that Rita stops her northward nudging!

Kevin...one more question if you're still awake...which you shouldn't be at this hour...you have school tomorrow!

Being that watches and warnings extend on the east coast up to Deerfield Beach, why is it that ours only extend as far north as Chokoloskee?

Thoughts?

Linda

WATCHES/WARNINGS...
AT 11 PM EDT...A TROPICAL STORM WARNING AND A HURRICANE WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA COAST FROM DEERFIELD BEACH SOUTH AND WEST TO CAPE SABLE ON THE SOUTHWEST FLORIDA COAST. AN INLAND TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR INLAND SECTIONS OF MIAMI-DADE AND MAINLAND MONROE COUNTIES. A TROPICAL STORM WATCH HAS
BEEN ISSUED FOR THE COAST FROM EAST CAPE SABLE TO CHOKOLOSKEE.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for responding to my question last night about west coat warnings and watches. I understand your reasoning...I'm still surprised that the 5AM didn't include expanded watches for our area. I guess since the next move would include up to Bonita Beach, it might be premature to jump so far north this soon. Lets see what the 11:00 brings.

BTW...how did you sneak a post in from school??? LOL..

Have a great day!
