Local Met in West Palm Says
No need to worry here in Palm Beach County and I'm right on the border of Broward.

Same story Monday morning.......local tv mets are all saying Boca Raton and points north will experience rain and gusty winds. Then the ususal, "we're watching it closely for you and want you to tune in in case anything changes" speech- guaranteed to keep everyone glued to the screen.
For what it's worth, plenty of tweeting birds, twittering squirrels and signs of animal life in East Boca when I walked the dog earlier. Even saw a big ole' racoon!
My house and CERT teams are prepared for a big blow, but we're not anticipating anything as bad as Katrina was in our neck of the woods just a few short weeks ago.

I guess this was aimed at me? lol. Yes Palm Beach should be okay. Some feeder bands may get stronger than you think but that is about it.

perhaps this guy needs to read the NHC Rita discussion from 8am, where Franklin says watches and warnings are likely to go up north along the Fl east coast, whcih would most definetly include palm beach county
