The only thing is, the date on those models are all 18th, yesterday. Doesn't that mean they have dropped it? It looks to me as if this system has suffered from shear and dry air. The water vapor image shows this:

The End...

Does 97L have any chance?

Could this be the end of the Cape Verde season?

the lastest TWO isn't giving it much of a chance, so it looks like we may have to wait awhile before we get Stan. When looking at data from previous years, it does start to slow down at the end of September, so this is kind of expected.

Invest 97L has moved NW away from the zone that was expected to be favorable for development, which was south of 15N. This was one of the possibilities presented earlier and it does not appear that the system has any chance of development anytime soon.

I read the 11pm discusion and it sounded like 97 was trying to split itself apart and the low was going to take a more northward track. I'm still new at reading these updates and translating cordinates visually, but does this sound like the "new" low now is more favorable to develop? It looks pretty sad on satellite now.

It sounded like the east carribean wave was the one the NHC thought had the best next chance of any development.

A LARGE BUT DISORGANIZED AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER LOCATED SEVERAL
HUNDRED MILES EAST-NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS IS
BECOMING ABSORBED INTO THE BROAD CIRCULATION OF PHILLIPE.

PHILIPPE ABSORBS 97L. BYE, BYE 97L.

This is the second time that Invest 97L has had a weird fate this year. The first one was pretty impressive for a long duration, but never got numbers or named. It got SSD T#s of 2.0/2.0 for some time.
