Alabama Coast

Don't most of you feel that at this time our area will most likely be spared any effects from Rita?
I know the models can flip back and forth, and may in the next couple of days, but my thinking is that she would have to slow down in forward motion to have any chance of the poleward motion (due to weakening of the ridge) to start soon enough to come this far eastward. JMO

Yeah, it would take a pretty big shift in the forecast track for the AL coast to get significant effects. But I've seen stranger things before.
