Mid Latitude Trough & Upper High

This latest WV loop shows the upper high over Texas moving westward while a trough located over Colorado is dropping east south east on the east side of the high. Could this possible affect the future track of Rita as it moves into the GOMEX the next several days? Have the models picked up on this? Thoughts and comments welcomed.
