Energy of Louisiana!!!

#1 Postby gk1 » Tue Sep 20, 2005 3:00 pm

The main source of energy here in SE LA. is annoucing that it may file for bankruptcy. Lets hope that it does not cost it's customers even more money than it has in the past. We have been receiving refunds and rebates from this company for years cause of all sorts of overcharges!!!

Well isn't that just spiffy. My fuel surcharge alone is already more than my electric bill.

Bankruptcy terms for public utilities are generally quite lenient. Unless they are filing for chapter 7 (dissolution of the business), they are likely to remain in business.

It's Entergy, not Energy

My house is about 1500 sq. ft living area and my electric bill with them runs about $250 in the summer and $300 in the winter (all electric).

My Entergy bill has doubled thanks to the 'fuel surcharge'. I know a gentleman that has a very small house where his bill was $60 and the FS was $120. He raised cain and was told the less you use the more the FS. Grrrrrrrr. Its just like everything else, it just cost's more

Entergy's New Orleans unit said they may file for bankruptcy protection. I'm thinking it's a ploy to get some of that free gov't money going around.

Our local power association decided to give us a "break" on our light bill for the month of September....they they took 30% off of the monthly bill....even tho we were without power for 50% of the month LOL....nice of them, huh? (They based the usage on past month's usages...go figure)They didn't even read the meters this month.
