Watching it now. This is creepy. It reminds me of all the articles I read on NOLA in the years before Katrina.

For everyone who hasn't opened the link, this is a 10 minute movie showing what would happen if a major hurricane hit the Galveston Houston area.

"self bump"

What's this all about?

"what is about to take place"

I suppose every hurricane that is in the Gulf from now on is destined to nail a major city. Please...

Exactly- this would be an appropriate post to make if Rita were 50 miles from Houston, but this thing could easily miss Houston by 100+ miles. Sounds to me like we've got some adrenalin junkies here. Even if it did hit close to Houston, my bet is the dry air over Texas will weaken it significantly prior to landfall.

You sound like that guy in the movie.

Didn't this movie win the Cannes film festival?

It stopped while the lady in clear lake was talking ---- I was just getting interested. It said buffering and I couldn't get it to start playing again. How did it end?

I don't have a problem with the video being posted. I do have a problem with someone posting "this is about to happen" as if people reading this might not have loved ones living in that area. Think how you'd feel if you had family there, you don't know much about hurricanes, and you come here and see that post. If anyone has a problem with my post, too bad- I stand by it 100%.

After going through Katrina and the swollen rivers and bayous taking so many lives people need to be aware of what could happen.

If I had loved ones in the area I'd e-mail them the link to this thread and tell them to watch the video. That would encourage them to take it seriously and start preparing their property and pack up to evac. Its only 72hrs until landfall and there saying its gonna be a huge storm. If you wait till its 50-100miles offshore its will be too late unless its slows down a lot like Katrina did.
