Sometimes the crap I read on here burns me to know end. For God's sake now we even have a conspiracy theory about the "line." Meteorology is a science and the men and women at the National Hurricane Center as far as I am concerned are the creme de le creme of their science. Hurricanes don't care a rat's behind about politics and I'm sorry I see no reason to believe the NHC does either. They call it like they see and for the most part they are right. If I had to stake my life, my family's life, the life of those I care about or even those I don't I'd pick the NHC every single time. Not Accuweather, not the Weather Channel, not the dingbats that hype Viper, or Titan or DoubleX Doppler 9 million. When you cut through all the proverbial poop your still talking about a spinning top on a spinning ball travelling through space at tens of thousands of miles per hour. If your stupid enough to concentrate soley on the black line and not the cone then your stupid enough to believe in the conspiracy theory. Yes Fox the truth is out there they publish it at every update.

To assert that the cone is merely some computer calculation of distances to each side of the center of the hurricane's path is an insult to the intelligence of those people who are working for us.
Yes, working to save lives. Show some respect for what they do. I've seen asymmetrical "cones" around projected tracks more times than I can count.
When? Its just the error... cones are expanded or contracted based on track confidence to my knowledge.
