Let's see if they change to late morning the plan of the day which calls for a mission early this afternoon. Now recon is needed as the system is intensifying fast to see how is the pressure and the winds at the quadrants.

I have no clue(there were electrical problems last night that delayed the scheduled flight at 1am)... although a NOAA plane is going out shortly. I'm hoping they'll get a pressure reading at least.

I can't believe a second that no recon will not be into Rita until tommorow being what is going on with the system as now more than ever the people want the data to see how strong is she.The plan is for a mission at 18:00z but what happened with that one?

When I see you surprised, I know we are in deep trouble. The Drovak numbers now say 7.2 or 914mb, everyone in the media will be shocked when we get new data, but Thurs tha's insane. :wall: :wall: :wall:

That's the AODT; the human-based Dvorak numbers have conistently been 1 whole number lower, and NHC has been using those numbers.

A NOAA PLANE WILL CHECK THE INTENSITY LATER THIS MORNING.

The above from the 8 AM Advisorie:

I guess that is a noaa3 mission

FLIGHT ONE
A. 20/1700Z
B. NOAA3 1118A RITA
C. 20/1500Z
D. SFMR MISSION
F. SFC TO 10,000 FT

So here is hope to see a vortex reading later this morning.

CI# /Pressure/ Vmax
7.0 / 920.1mb/140.0kt

holding steady ... so far
