Question about SE TX Evac

#1 Postby KLP124 » Wed Sep 21, 2005 8:39 am

I've been hearing over and over that once evacuations are ordered, you won't be able to travel East/West. I'm here at work in Port Arthur and I live West, out towards Winnie. If evacuation orders are issued and I'm at work, will I be able to get home or will I be forced to drive north?

I'd check with your local emergency officials. They might let you go home. It's a good idea to go ahead and prepare now so you won't have to spend too much time at home making preparations for the storm and for evac.

KLP124,

I believe I-10 and Hwy 73 are the evacuation routes. You would have to take Hwy 124 to Winnie. It parallels I-10 to Winnie. Or you can take 365.

But I seriously doubt Port Arthur or the Golden Triangle will be evacuating.
