29 N/96 W is Matagorda County near Bay City... almost a copy of the NHC track.

the NHC is brilliant, make no mistake about it....BUT..they're guys when they're on TV, they're boring.....if these guys were regular TV mets, they'd put me to sleep!!!!!!!!

Yea, they're entertaining, but he should NOT make calls like he's made this year. Hell, before the season began, his forecast was for a weaker season than last year. Yesterday he said he was the ONLY person to talk about a possible Cat 5 from Rita which is a total LIE. He has lied to his audience over and over again. He has been calling for a New Orleans hit since the beginning of the season and he finally lucked out and got Katrina right so he could say "I told you so".

He has lots of knowledge and is entertaining, but I still think he's a joke. To talk about the NHC the way he does is ridiculous. Accuweather is the place mets go to get a job when they can't get one anywhere else...and that's a fact, not an opinion. Accuweather is trying to ruin the free data we get from the NWS and the NHC. So I don't care how entertaining they can be, when they try to take away from the people, I could care less about anything they say.

What's not true? I KNOW the disco mentions the possiblity of a Cat 5. Yesterday J.B. said he was the ONLY one to forecast a possible Cat 5 in the gulf. That is a lie. He was not the ONLY person to mention it.

Joe B. pinpoints an exact location and intensity DAYS and DAYS before hand and gives people outside his DOT a false sense of security. At least the NHC says don't pay attention to the black line and watch the cone.

If and it's a big IF he could tone down his act a few notches then I could and would begin to possibly listen to him.

I think underneath his huff and rough style is a fairly good MET. But he is way off and irresponsible way too much of the time to be considered a reliable source of information when lives and property are at stake.
