Kind of scary if it is :S

"We wouldn't be able to save the entire human population, but perhaps the best and the brightest," observed British rocket scientist Dr. David Hall, when asked about the feasibility of such a project.
And just how does one determine the best and the brightest? Is it the scientist who can figure out the mechanics of the world but can't fry an egg? Is it the child who has an extremely high IQ but isn't old enough to take care of himself? Is it the financial wizard who knows how to make lots of money but has no time to spend with his family? Is it the woman who raised children alone that became doctors, lawyers, and teachers though she never graduated from high school? Is it the high paid football players or worse yet politicians? Is it the Redneck boy who can hunt, fish, and survive off the land but is a bigot? What religion must these people practice? What race must they be? How much education should they have? Should they be married or single?
Tell me -- just how does one determine the best and the brightest. Better yet, tell me just who has the right to decide.
My thoughts,
MomH

Sorry, I dont believe it, but pretty soon you know you are going to find out that even milk or steak is deadly overtime. Maybe even Mcdonalds? Everything will be discovered deadly foods, stuff we wear, stuff we touch, even our own pets, being around them will be discovered deadly in time it seems. We wont eat anything, we will starve, and we wont even leave our beds! I think these "scientists" need to back off, not say anything until facts, hard facts are produced.

One wonders how man managed to survive for 8,000 years of recorded history (and several millennia before) by consuming, keeping and wearing all those things the "experts" say are deadly?

By 2014, I'll have come too &^%* close to my "longevity scale" age...which means I won't know what's going on, or care...
Coppertop, OTOH, will have reached the ripe old age of 26..."babe magnet", well-seasoned in the art. And will probably reach his 3rd Dan black belt by then, teaching in his own dojong.
