DATA FROM RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT INDICATE THAT RITA HAS INTENSIFIED
A LITTLE MORE AND WINDS HAVE REACHED 150 MPH WINDS WITH A MINIMUM
PRESSURE OF 920 MB. THIS MAKES RITA A STRONG CATEGORY FOUR
HURRICANE.
So a 920mb hurricane that appears to be transitioning to annular and is about to hit higher SSTs -- anyone want to guess how low this baby will go? I wouldn't be shocked to see a sub 900 storm at some point, though obviously it'll peak long before it gets to land.
