Rita is now a Category Five storm, with sustained winds of 165mph (265km/h), making it stronger than Hurricane Katrina which devastated New Orleans.

this isnt true is it ?

Katrina was 902 and 175mph at her peak

However if they are refering to Katrina at landfall they are correct (140mph 918)

Well it's strong then katrina was at her landfall. It's still weakerthen katrina at her peak thow (however that may change here in the next couple hours).
