Its shifting north of the forecast points on the floater.

+1 If this continues tonight it will have a great deal of impact on
where she makes landfall. Tx/La coast?

It could come further north than that, what is going on its going NW now. You can see the high's splitting. LA needs to be ready as well.

The high is not moving east, it appears to be weakening or spliting in the middle.

Our local NBC met said that was what was going to happen, they were going to split, but the one left over tx was not strong enough to steer is south. So if High moves off to the NE that is currently over SE US, look out LA. Especially if it has slowed down.

our local nws mets in dfw are saying that the high is holding very strong, stronger than models predicted....fwiw.

I would also be very interested in explanations as to what is influencing the change in direction and speed compared to the forecast over the past 4 hours or so. I can't find any answers from what I'm seeing, and for the sake of forecasting in general, I hope someone can!

Last 4 frames show back to due west. I appears it was a wobble. I need to go watch LOST and come back in an hour. A smart person, myself, once said trust NHC.
