Northwest edge of Galveston Bay (Galveston is on the southwest edge).

It's half way between Houston and Galveston. It's where I grew up. And it's right on Galveston Bay. If Rita makes a direct hit close to Galveston, it will likely be the sight of the worst storm surge. And there's no quick way out of there. If the water comes up quickly, his escape routes will be cut off before he knows it. Hope he thought that through.

He may just be there for now... landfall IS still 2 days away.

His crew is there tonight, however, they might not be there tomorrow, Friday, and on into the weekend. They arrived in Texas today, and Seabrook is one of the areas to really focus in on where the evacuation is taking place. Expect him to possibly make his way up the coast. Stephanie Abrams is located in Galveston; both sites are closing up fast.
