This is my second try at posting this, the board is really loaded up right now.
Dont' worry HouTX, you'll definitely be in our prayers, and our dreams.
Landfall location is going to very critical now only in terms of high sustained winds. And extreme cat 5 (I use extreme cat 5 for storms that have to drop at least 30 knots to fall to cat 4) will plow a path of near total devastation anywhere within maybe 50 miles of the coast in the area of maximum winds.
Any way you look at it, unless this storm takes the unlikely western or eastern outlier track, Texas is going to be slammed hard. I wish it weren't so.
Stay safe, and calm and decisive in what you do. This is going to be a most difficult time.

My heart is breaking for all of you in Texas. It's almost a physical illness. First, so many of our friends on the N. Gulf Coast lost their homes and livelihoods and now this. The only word I can come up with is surreal.
I suspect the tone of this board will be forever changed and predict that -removed- will become a thing of the past.
Be safe, my friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers constantly.

You pretty much said what I was feeling word for word. I have actually been sitting here with tears in my eyes (thinking not again), please everyone be safe. To be honest with you I am tired of crying over storms. Debbie

All of your prayers are greatly appreciated. I can hardly believe what I'm hearing. My parents have a home on Bolivar Peninsula and we are on Clear Lake so we are looking at 2 major losses. I don't know what to hope for and I don't want to wish it on someone else. We are in Dallas safe but very sad.

As long as I have been a weather nut, I never realized the emotional wrenching of staring around your house and trying to decide what is just too important and sentimental to you to leave -- knowing that everything else could possibly be washed or blown away when you come back. It is literally making me nauseous.
But as long as I have my little boy and our pets, the rest are just "things"... and we can buy more things.
Good luck and God speed to us all.
