GFDL and UKMET

if those models continue east N.O. watchout this for this monster. 3" of rain is all it will take to brake a levee and this monster will certainly do a heck of alot more.

The GFDL, supposedely on of the best hurricane models, looks to be right over Galveston and into the Houston area. Not good.

Houston actually sits NW of the bay, so 40 miles east is better than 80 miles west.

I'm not sure which is worse - the eye coming right over Houston, or the dreaded northeast quadrant coming right over Houston.

Sorry y'all to the east, but I'm a hopin' it curves ever so slightly more to the east.

We in New Orleans are pretty much assured of some flooding city-wide, except on the westbank, which is where I sit now. On the bright side, the eastbank is empty. I just hope it doesn't go as far east as the TX/LA line, because my dad is still evacuated to my aunt's house in Lafayette.

In the 1am update did she move more north west or still west? I havent seen the latest but I was just told it was a NW track again.

It was between wnw and nw. I believe .2 up and .4 over

+.2 n this time

WNW @ 9 mph is what they updated.

From 4pm Tues to 4 pm Wed there was a .4 movement north (24 hours)

since 4pm Wed until 1 am Thu it has moved .4 N (9 hours)

I saw a model a few minutes ago, I have since lost it.... reminds me of an Ivan type scenario where it loops back into the water. :eek:

the 00z euro is still just SW of galveston....about right where NHC has there landfall point...
