Map Showing Storm2K Members Location??

#1 Postby recmod » Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:34 am

I remember that, during Katrina, someone put together maps that showed the Louisiana areas impacted with an overlay pinpointing various Storm2K members' locations. This was very helpful and informative in identifying exactly where our members were in reference to the hurricane's effects. I don't know who created these maps, but similar ones for Rita would be wonderful. I know we have a lot of members in the expected strike-zone of Texas.

I am a just a tad further west than the clustered red dots on the map. I am a little west of Houma.

There was a thread started a few months ago where you could post your latitude and longitude. The thread eventually grew to about 17 pages when I started inputting the locations into the Google Earth software and published the maps. So unless the thread is revived and more than a few people post their locations again, I doubt I'll be updating it for a while.

Hey MTM, is there a way we could start a new thread for those who are not on the map to add to?? And possibly update the map???(or just use this thread, as I looked for the old thread but without the search function enabled it is hard)
I know that during the last cane, the map was a big help to keep track of missing members.....
