GOES-12 can't but GOES-10 can.

Is it because of the type of image that's being used that she looks so differently. I know about the satellite eclipse, but wanted to know who she looks now compared to earlier in the evening.

GOES-10 is of a lower quality than GOES-12, but it's better than nothing during 12's eclipse.

The winds are nowhere near cat 5 right now. Recon reports only support 110-115kts surface winds or so which is borderline cat 3, but NHC likely kept it cat 4 due to the low pressure.

Recon. And the last few frames on GOES 10 show some raggedness to the eye (or is it b/c it is GOES 10 not GOES 12?). Cat 3 tomorrow wouldn't be a surprise.

what are you thinking?

I am a bit tired after a VERY long day aboard the aircraft so I am a bit testy. That said, what in the world are you talking about this being close to cat 5 status?

Isn't it almost over that warm eddy sector that lies just ahead of i? She looks much weaker compared to earlier. Does this decrease chance of restrengthening?
