We measured a maximum flight level wind of 137KT in the first leg through the NE quad

the ride qas quite smooth, except for a rainband wher I was knocked on my carcass

Derek, were you on the flight that reported 'impressive moonlit stadium effect' last night? Or talk to anyone that saw that or might have somehow got a picture of that? That must have been some sight, wish we could see it.

the Navy plane flew between the two eye walls today, nearly ending up making a center fix (which they are not supposed to be doing) because the inner eye was so open for a time this afternoon

Yeah, yeah, so you flew on a recon flight. What we all really want to know is, how many times did you puke?

<j/k>

Bet it was a great experience.

Derek,

Glad you enjoyed your flight on 43 - it's been 24 years since I was a passenger on 42 (they were both commissioned in 1977)...
