Ridge exiting very quickly now ...

check out the ridge exiting quickly into Kentucky. Good news for Houston.

The Ridge was forecasted to exit quickly today.

Right now it looks as though she's still moving NW so I'm not sure this would have any impact on the landfall. How soon could this effect the storm's direction in your opinion?

It is tracking ever so slightly east of path, if it exits fast you could have landfall more east. Extreme SW LA.

Latest GFDL moved a 100 miles east to border.

Well, if this does happen, that would be slightly better for Galveston/Houston as far as surge. The further you get to the west side of the eye, the better. Unfortunately this would not bode well for SW LA.

If it did go east of Houston/Galveston, which right now it looks like it will be just east of the NHC next plot, and this continues, that area could be spared in a big way, but LA would be, and I think has been for the last 36 hrs, will be the area of the biggest threat.
