Could Rita be all hype and no bite? We'll see but there is some very cold convection erupting around the eye right now.

shes firing again, cold clouds tops now exploding and clouds expanding around center

2-3-4, irregardless, she is HUGE and will do some serious damage over a widespread area which has not seen a storm in decades.

winds increasing...lates plane report found 130 kts (from 107° = SE quadrant).

in regards to Houston.... No question about it... Super Hype!
The media has played this baby huge for the Houston 4+ million
viewers... and it's not gonna happen. They (the media) will
be running around the area searching for fallen trees and puddles
of water to blast all over the tv... and it's probably going to be only
isolated cased... not wide spread catastrophy.

This is more of a LA event... JMHO

It's looking that way, the eye is a bit messed up, but so much explosive uplift, that quickly ...

There's a lot of coastline between Houston and Louisiana that I'm worried about!

I don't see how this is getting any stronger. All the satellites I've seen on TV show a drastically weakening storm.
