Still NW..

As the weight catches up look for a westward jog. But the westward jogs are far more less than these jogs to the N. May even have the 1pm update at a NNW heading..

I say due north...maybe nnnw. Hope it continues to diminish and doesn't stall as forecast. :(

Dr. Frank just stated that 'over the last 24 hours he hasn't seen the turn that they were expecting' and he's a bit concerned.

Most important factor, IT'S WEAKENING!! IMO, it looks to be heading rate for the state line!! Better chance it will go east of Gal /Houston area!

Not because of the consequences by no means, but the "ITS WOBBLED NORTH!!" followed by "ITS WOBBLED WEST" are getting pretty old on the board. I know it makes a big difference, but just hope you are 100% prepared and hopefully everyone will be okay

There's also isolated lightning strikes around close in to Rita's circulation (although not nearly the ring of fire eyewall lightning we saw when she first ventured into cat 5 territory). Nevertheless, these lightning strokes suggest more efficient traansfer of energy from Gulf into vertical development. I've noticed that since usually hurricanes contain such a lack of any lightning, lightning only occurs near the core of a storm when it is strengthening.

"MAX FL WIND 129 KT NE QUAD 1741Z " It's slowly weakening just like the NHC has been saying!

Last forecast point 11AM 27.4N and 91.9W
Forecast for 12 hours later 28.3 and 93.1W (3hour actual 27.8N and 92.2W) They actually had it forecast to be slightly south of NW. Actual change .4 N and .3W, thats North of NW. She is currently North of track.

No doubt about it! We are all praying your areas misses the worst of it. A cat 3 will still do some damage!

From that Lake Charles radar she seems to be still moving NW...when is this turn supposed to take place? After landfall?
