Oh dear, TWN has four minutes of programming every ten minutes. They are so poor, it's becoming the shopping channel. There is only one on-staff meteorologist, and he comes on once a day between 6pm and 11pm. It's just becoming a waste of money, they should close the whole thing down. No one really watches it unless they see the red banner on the bottom of the screen with warnings for their particular area.

Why do you think Fox, CNN, etc. have gotten so into to hurrcanes? Maybe because of TWC (TWN?) I think they provide an great service. The give us the NHC's prediction without too much of their own BS. If you don't like them, you have the right to turn the channel.

Actually, I enjoy TWC. I started out watching it first last night, just couldnt deal with all the excessive commercials, so I exercised my "right" and turned the channel. :)

I have just noticed the warbdrobe thing for a while now and wondered if anyone else did. Thought I'd delurk with that question.

Nice to meet everyone- I'm from Alabama. :D [/quote]

I remember when there was no voice on the locals...

I also remember when Storm Stories(or the 1st of the taped junk), Atmospheres, didn't air at all.

Those were the days... *sigh*

I don't care about the music, but the TWC in general has become a joke and just a shadow of what it once was.

The Rita coverage was atrocious, particularly the late, late night programming with Schultz and his sidekick. (I think I have the name right).

Nothing but a lot of hamming it up for the camera and very little substance.

In contract, the cable news reporters did yeoman's jobs in covering every aspect -- some more dramatically than others. But they were in there hip deep and without sleep. They are OK in my book.

um well down here we have 3 or more meterologists on at a time....TWC's
home down here is in Atlanta Georgia......and from some one from Canada you should not interfere with TWC at all unless yall have a blizzard up there....they are not a waste of money.....and when we have HORIFFIC THUNDERSTORMS down here that can produce TORNADOS...and have in the past year....i am always counting on TWC to give me the latest...DONT HATE APPRECIATE!!!

Well I personally pefer the NBC's version of TWC. Plus you get the local forcast from a ACTUAL metrologist. Too bad most places you have to be able to get digital TV or have access to the internet to get it , which doesn't help during a storm right on top of ya.

The thing that turned me off about TWC was the endless COMMERICALS last night!! MSNBC/FNC/CNN were all live and with few, if any, commericals. You cannot be taken seriously as a weather source if your going to run commericals through a hurricane landfall. That's the equalivent of one of the cable news networks running a documentary or commericals during a major news story...

Yeah, you wouldn't want to miss a piece of tin roof flying through the air.

Hey, you never know when a piece of tin roof flying through the air will take the shape of the Virgin Mary and cause a riot at the local Winn-Dixie for tin-foil to make mockups of it to sell for $5.99. Got to keep a look out for good stuff like that.

The Weather Channel is always very interested in what the viewers think about the programming. If you want to comment on the programming, pass along an e-mail. http://www.weather.com

The "annoying" guy you are talking about is for the blind and the people who cant read or are not right in front of the tv... They arent invincable, and cant survive anything so they need to info to..., you know... espectally if they are outside doing something and have a window open, then they can hear it, TWC needs to go back to their original logo to...

Not trying to be too silly, but it doesn't matter if there in front of the TV, they can't see it.
