Man, the last guy that asked that questioned really got flamed. But to answer your question my understanding is that there is nothing that is predicted to develop that would affect land.

Two large anticyclones and a huge upper-level trough in the E Atl are really inhibiting development all over the Atlantic now, including 98L. The only area that is even marginally favorable is the eastern Caribbean (though 10 kt shear still resides across that area as well). An area of disturbed weather is located just west of the southern Windward Islands, and if the shear subsides in the western Caribbean, this thing might become a player down the road a few days from now.

There is not much going on right now in the western Atlantic, Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Not much in the eastern Atlantic either; however, there are several waves about to exit the African coastline; they will likely not all develop, however.

INVEST.98L seems to be getting better organized, though.

After spending 30 hours in an un-air-conditioned car behind a half million other cars on the hottest, muggiest, smoggiest day you have ever seen, wondering if I would ever see those family members and friends who had stayed behind again, if my house and school would survive, wondering if the gas station we found and were waiting at for four hours would still have any gas when we got there and if we might be shot by the people there who were pulling out guns, I find myself amazed that I would even have the guts to open this thread and see if there are any other storms developing out there. Let me just tell you that until you've been in the middle of a panicked evacuation that size and with that lack of any hope whatsoever--remember that when we left Houston, the eye of a strengthening Category 5 with the third lowest pressure in recorded history was progged to hit your hometown with it's strongest side, or been hit by a major hurricane yourself or in the middle of a warzone, you have never seen ANYTHING. I am just so thankful. Forty-eight hours ago I left what I expected to be certain hell to enter another hell, and yet I can still smile as I write this.
Phew, I'm glad that's over!!! Rita, your name is MUD. I don't care if you had a beautiful satellite picture, I don't care if you had a low pressure. It will take time for this storm to truly affect me, but once it does, my fifteen years of fascination with the development of hurricanes will have converted to enormous dread and fear. I hope that all of you are all safe and out of danger, though naturally some of you will have lost tremendous things, but I think that somehow God, in answering the desperate prayers of millions of people in Houston-Galveston, killed this storm dead at the last minute and dragged it violently into a far less populated area. Thank God for that. I've got to study for my exams now. God bless all of you, and for those of you who read this and have lost something valuable, I am SOOOO sorry and will pray for you with all my heart..

Glad that you are safe. I know what you mean about the dread and fear. After being in 2 hurricanes last year I have dealt with dread and fear all season. These storms leave something with you that you can never forget. They may look awesome, beautiful to some and they truly are an incredible force of nature that holds many in awe but the horror and devastation they bring to those in their path just makes some wish the season would come to an end.
