I think that is about rita goin back to the gulf.

It's an upper level low. Nothing tropical.

OMG, people. This is the GFS we're talking about, if I had a dollar for everytime this model predicted a storm that never developed, I'd be filthy FILTHY rich.

Not sure what the point is ... you're posting upper and mid-level fields from widely separated times, and with not much of interest showing in them.

About the only thing worth mentioning is that if that ULL SW of Florida lingers a couple of days after that time, it would inhibit development of the disturbance in the Caribbean. I think it may retrograde, though.

Well, that may or may not be true, but I don't see it predicting a storm in any of the posted maps.
