At this point suggesting one area is safe while the other is not is pure speculation. I am hearing this cold front may wash out before making it far enough south to be a player. Every state along the GOM has been damaged by one storm or another this year AL/FL had Dennis LA/MS/AL had Katrina and TX/LA had to contend with Rita..This is not even including the tropical storms and lower category hurricanes. This is getting to be too scary.

And there's a bunch of clusters over Africa...two of which have
moved off and are strong waves...this season is incredibly scary!!!

Also Dennis, Katrina, and Rita all brought hurricane force winds to parts
of Florida

Last year it was just FL and the E. Gulf Coast. THis year areas along the
gulf coast including FL Coasts are getting slammed, pulverized, devastated...

Year of the gulf storms!

This year it's either a storm heading into the gulf or fish. Half have been fish, but the worst storms made landfall.

I highly doubt it with the monster ridge that is supposed to build and all of the waves that are about to come off of Africa.

Nobody is safe right now, at least until we actually have a system, and get a better grip on where it might be going

I don't trust any of the models now. They have 99L moving a whole lot slower than it actually is. A faster moving system would have
very different implications for a future track.

Those of us who had to relocate from New Orleans to Lafayette, LA were pretty much numb in the face of Rita. We've all agreed that we can't handle another one and are selecting states to which to relocate. I took CO. Someone else called AK. We're only half kidding.

I just love the phrase "way too early to tell". Not starting something with anybody but it just sounds pretty cool.
