Too Much Talkin' Tropics?

My earliest memory of snow is being out in the moonlight, walking alongside my dad as we went to the edge of the woods to cut down a small tree for Christmas. Man, I had to be like four or five years old. The clearest, most vivid part of the memory is our shadows on the sparkling snow, and the crunch of our feet as we walked. I miss both my dad and the snow.

I was 17 when the blizzard of 78 hit..i live in ohio..wow what a great time that was..was out of school for at least a week.

Yup, the '78 storm is still legendary in N. Lower MI as well. 15' to 20' drifts the entire mile length of our road, which only has an eastern exposure. We were able to walk onto the flat roof of one of the outbuildings by climbing the drift. Its a story and a half high. The novelty of being able to climb up wore off when we were told we had to shovel it before it collapsed. Four days to open one lane on the road, no power for quite a while.

We had an ice storm here two years ago so that was what 2003 I think i may be wrong i have a crappy memory , it iced a little here last year, but im having an issue rememberin the last snow ..I know it was after my son was born 2000 but he was walking so it had to be 2001 does anyone know when im talking about?

Not exactly my first snowfall, but a friend who lived in Matagorda told me about the time it snowed so deep that they were able to build snowmen on the beach (December 2004).

That is, by far, the coolest snowman i've ever seen in my entire life. Not like i've seen very many, living in Houston... But THAT is the BEST snowman I ever WILL see.
