I am slightly irriated at State Farm.
Been handed off to 4 different adjusters, and about to be handed to a 5th because the 4th one was not "certified" to assess flood damage.
It's been almost a month now. Has ANYONE gotten ANYTHING from their insurance?
Has anyone heard a peep from their insurance company?

Not one has actually met with me yet. I've just talked with 4 different adjusters on the phone. #1 never called back. #2 said he was sending me to #3. #3 said he would call me back when my flood insurance payment was verified. #4 calls me out of the blue and says she will be handling me. Then calls back later to say no, she was not "flood certifiied", and would have to send me to someone else.
I am beyond mad now.

We and most other friends who had filed claims had our adjustors here a week or more before State Farm adjustors showed up at those friends' places. I'm not sure why there was a delay.
If that is the case then all the commercials saying that "State Farm was there first" are wrong.

State Farm has been nothing but a joke through all this. Even people with flood insurance they take their time. When they do decide to show up (4 adjusters later) they try to get their insured to sign a statement saying this was all flood. LOL! Of course, the people here in MS are not as stupid as they think we are.
wxmann.... there are BIG pieces of plywood all over Pascagoula with "State Farm is not a good neighbor" spray painted on them.

If you were flooded and you do not have flood insurance through National Flood then go ahead and call FEMA. Nationwide is not paying either.
I called MetLife on a Monday. They called me back within 30 minutes and they said they were glad we were safe! The adjuster was out at my house on Thursday of the same week. I already have my check.

I have Metlife as well and they are extremely impressive. I called them to start my claim and they called me back the next morning. The first thing they said was "Is everyone okay?". Now that alone impressed me. We decided to cancel our claim since my husband said he could fix the damage to the roof himself and it wasn't worth paying our deductible but the fact is that Met responded very quickly.
Back in December, my dh wrecked his truck on a Saturday and it was in the shop being repaired first thing Monday morning. Yes, we also have Metlife auto insurance. The check to pay the repair shop was sent to us before the end of that week. I will stick with this company, I've already been with them for about 10 years.

Lindaloo,
Did you have flood damage? If so, was MetLife helpful in that area? I had flood damage, but I'm pretty sure some wind was involved too.. Don't know if you've seen the picture, but my house ended up in my neighbor's yard down the street.. There are houses south of me that didn't move off of their piers.. Hopefully I can convince the adjuster that the wind moved the house, not the water..
I have MetLife for homeowner's, but not for flood.. They have been pretty helpful.. I spoke to an adjuster and explained my situation.. He said that he wouldn't be able to help me by coming to the property, so he wouldn't even waste my time.. He went ahead and passed my claim to the "Large Loss Division".. Don't know that I like the sound of that, but maybe it means they write large checks..

Anyways, my new adjuster is supposed to be meeting with me this Friday.. Hopefully I don't get screwed..
