I have a ton of mixed feelings on this. Seems like if I give to an organization for the good of the community, I don't want the same giving duplicated in my tax dollars via a reimbursement by the government.
This is especially true since these are tax free non-profit organizations. A charity is exactly that. The issue for me isn't whether the charity is faith based or not, I just believe charities have always supplemented government programs.
