Paul says warm winter---------Read Below:

A PRELIMINARY LOOK AT WINTER 2005/2006?

Paul Kocin, Winter Weather Expert

An official “Winter Outlook” has yet to be issued from the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center (CPC) but they nonetheless continue to issue long range outlooks, including one for the 3-month period December -January-February (2005-2006) we often refer to as the “meteorological winter”.

According to this outlook, winter weather lovers are not going to be a happy bunch, while the rest of the population might breathe a sigh of relief, albeit a bit prematurely.

The outlook calls for about 2/3rds of the US to have above-average temperatures, and none of the lower 48 is forecast to have below-average temperatures. That’s mainly just following the long-term trend (a reflection of global warming) as opposed to anything insightful about this particular winter.

10This ties in with the Met office forecasting a colder then average winter for much of W.Europe and amazingly enough a colder then average winter in the south of England, something not seen in 10 years, this Febraury for a good sustained cold spell but nothing compared to the past, hopefully that was just a teaser.

JETSTREAM BOB,

Just a quick note: Paul Kocin isn't making a forecast. He's discussing the CPC ideas.

well techniquely that could support ideas about global warming causing the ocean current to slow... the North Atlantic Current which would normally feed warmer water up from the Gulf and around toward Europe... perhaps this could indicate also a colder winter for New England... just a thought... and not necessarily even my opinion lol
