Hey, don't feel stupid! Every time I do it I have to give myself a mini-refresher course.

That's the only storm image I have. I have a couple other regular sunset pics I've taken that I like, but that's a topic for another thread. I hope more people will post pics. I love the orange and purple sky.

Yes, this and the thread on the eye poll are quite ironic. Such beauty in such deadly power.

Did not capture either on film, but I saw this same thing before Hurricane Cindy and Hurricane Rita this year. We nicknamed it the Orange Glow.

Yup artist, I remember seeing your picture a few weeks back. Still a great picture with the pink looking like it's inside the clouds... Pretty neat!

It was very strange that we here in Myrtle Beach also had the orange sky, since the hurricane did not have much of an effect here.Just a little bit.
But I tried taking pictures, with my digital camera and for some reason on every single picture there were white dots.....Like lights.
The lady upstairs made a video tape as well. She also had the white dots.
Very strange

I don't remember which storm this was, but it sure made a beautiful sunset.

The sunset here in Dallas the day before Rita was one of the most spectacular I've ever seen. About 3/4 of the sky was covered with North-South alligned cirrus ribbons, with a wispy but distinct leading edge slowly pushing West. The sun illuminated the entire system as it passed below that leading edge. Once below, the sun seemed to grow and glow brilliant red, unusually brilliant for a sunset. Seemed like the sun wanted us to take one last look before it disappears. I didn't expect to see the sun again for a half a week.

Saturday, all I remember is dust clouds, and then Sunday was brilliantly sunny. I wouldn't mind more hurricanes coming up this way, if that were all that happened.
