This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

First of all, if you've never tuned in to Radio NHCWX http://radio.nhcwx.com, do it! Lots of good info and discussion.

Recently, they had Dr. Jeff Masters (weather underground) as a guest. He spoke some about what it was like flying into the eye of Gilbert and about the data they sent back to NHC... very interesting stuff.

A few days later I was showing a video to my Tech Math class called Hurricane! put out by NOVA. It was made in the mid 90's I believe. They talk about Camille, Andrew, Gilbert... and have footage taken at NHC and on one of the Hurricane Hunter aircraft as it flew into Gilbert. And there he was... Dr. Jeff Masters on the plane talking with his colleagues about whether to fly in at 5000 or to be safe and go in at 10000. Also mentions the data and how NHC questioned some of it.

Anyway, was just cool to see that right after hearing him speak on Radio NHCWX and thought some of you may be interested in seeing that video.
