Amtrack

Did anyone watch Aaron Brown on CNN? There was mention of Amtrack offering to take umpteen hundreds of people out on Saturday before Katrina and was turned down by the mayor's office. This is so dreadful if its true. I just can not understand when people were offering to help why they would refuse.

I heard that I went iivid!!!!!! Taking a train than waiting in traffic for 8 to 10 hrs seems like a no brainer, just another foul up.

Glad that came out because what I heard from friends in LA was that Nagin contacted Amtrak (among other carriers) and Amtrak said that it couldn't accomodate his [city's] needs.

So much mis-information out there.
