Ok...I have complied the data for the NHC vs. Accuwx Katrina tracks for the 4 forecasts that are verifiable against each other (Accu produced 5 lat/long pairs but 1 set was produced at 18Z on 8/26 with verify points at 12Z the next day...since the NHC does not issue forecasts at 18, 42, 66 hour intervals etc I could not include these results for verification).

However...before I release the stats...I am working to have maps of these forecast tracks...versus the actual track...available as well as a detailed analysis of each forecast...so we can see where each forecast went right/wrong.

I should have this completed by the weekend...I will post links to the maps and data in a thread upstairs called NHC vs. Accuweather Verification starting sometime tomorrow or Friday.

I also plan to do the same with the 5 (I think 5...can't remember now) Rita forecasts as well.

Anyway stay tuned...and of course...comments welcome.
