May I make a suggestion??

#1 Postby vacanechaser » Fri Sep 30, 2005 2:53 pm

Could we at some point, maybe lock a thread like the 99L thread that has 60 pages or so... After a while, it gets to be to long and people who are not able to keep up with the posts as they come in on a regular basis, like myself, dont have the time to always go through the long threads... Maybe lock the thread at some point and let it start over... Just a thought..

Also, as soon as someone posts about a system with a new thread, it gets killed or locked and they are referred to the long thread already in progress.. I know it may make things easier for some, but makes me not want to read those huge posts.. I think a new thread could be good as along as some of the posts there dont get outta hand...

Jesse - just go to the last couple of pages of the thread when you come back - that way you are able to see what is new with it without wading thru everything. I know I find it better this way as I know if there was something I wanted to find that was posted a couple of days ago I don't have to weed thru hundreds of threads to find it!

I really appreciate when everything is on one thread. Then you can just read the posts since the last time you logged on.

Jesse- I always go to the last post and click it then if I want to go to the previous page I hit it. That seems to work best for me. :D

Don't forget that the orange spot next to the title is "view newest post" and if you hit that it takes you to EXACTLY the last post you were on when you last left the thread.

I'm one of those who prefers to keep it all together, many mbs have very long threads, you just go to where you last left off, I don't understand why a new thread makes that easier. JMH newbie opinion. :)

I agree with the original poster. What I find confusing is the multiple discussions going on about a similar subject in the same thread (there should be a message tree available, perhaps, as in the Yahoo message boards,) as well as tangent subjects (a message tree would solve this, too.) The only problem is I like as many posts as possible on one page, I don't like having to load a page for each post (as in most tree systems.)

I'm not at all a fan of the message tree style.

its good to have everything nice and organized into 1 thread. Its better for reference purposes later on in the future.
