I've had an interesting....err....relationship with hurricane names, long before I moved to a coastal area. I had a boyfriend named Andrew in 1992, even tho I was just a wee little thing - and yes, the relationship was nearly as much of a trainwreck as the tropical system. I was dating a fellow named Bret in 1999 when a hurricane with the same name had its eye on Texas....in fact, my friend and roommate at the time was visiting the Houston area for the first time as he came ashore....she was the one who eventually convinced me to move here. Shortly after moving to Texas, I became involved with a guy named Isaac - and sure enough, there was Hurricane Isaac within a few months, spinning away (thankfully, he was a fish - the storm, not the gentleman).
I find it quite ironic that each of my long term relationships has been marked by the birth of one of natures most dangerous and destructive inventions. Is someone up there tryin' to tell me something, or what??
As far as my name goes, I think Carla is as close as its going to get ... if I remember correctly, she had a thing for coastal Texas as well....
