Loop Current
It seems like this year the Loop Current in the GOM was the gasoline "supercane unleaded " with 93 octane that led to Katrina&Rita although they acted like WPAC typhoon.

Ummm...the loop current is evil for making katrina and rita and therefore
does not deserve to be thanked...

Troll?? Thats why I have stayed away from the board lately.. The personal attacks for no reason are out of control with some people on this board.
Anyway, you are correct F5... What a current and what a couple of storms... It just shows you also that you dont need a Cape Verde hurricane to be one of the strongest and most destructive. Still intersesting to me how the heat content decreased so much as it approached the coast.. How did Camille pull it off??

According to the Wikipedia article I posted (link is in my above post), Camille rode the Loop Current all the way up to Mississippi, thus it didn't weaken.
