Wow... what is going on?
Here in eastern Boca Raton it feels like I am going through feederbands or rainbands surrounding a tropical system! There are several periods of very heavy, wind-driven rain and very gusty winds and drizzle. Currently, conditions are like that here right now. The clouds are low, light to somewhat dark gray and are moving quickly... just like when you are in the bands of a tropical system (e.g., a tropical storm or hurricane)! Also, I am not hearing very much thunder at all.
I am checking radar and satellite images and they show lots of easterly rain showers making their way into Florida. It is almost unbelievable... these are typical easterly showers and thunderstorms from the Atlantic, and it feels like I am in a tropical system and feederband/rainband events!
Who else in Florida is experiencing this? Anyone in south Florida noticing this? Post your current conditions/experiences now!
NOTE - This is like experiencing a tropical storm... without power outages and worse effects other than rain, wind, and flooding! Very cozy!

Scorpion wrote:Lol its totally sunny here. Nice breeze going on though.
Yes... it has been breezy or windy all day, especially when these rain showers are passing through!
There are spaces between these showers I am getting with sunnier (but mostly cloudy and overcast) weather. It is VERY HUMID outside!

Yes, it is an on-and-off pattern... just like going through feederbands surrounding a tropical system: first sunnier (but mostly overcast and cloudy) conditions that are breezy, then heavy rainbands containing very strong, gusty winds and wind-driven, heavy rain. I am getting that pattern right now!
Who thinks it feels like going through a tropical system's feederbands?
By the way, if there was NO INFORMATION on weather conditions, I might have thought I was going through a tropical system easily!
boca_chris, are you experiencing my current conditions now?
NOTE - It is still the same conditions outside my house!

I looked it up on infra-red... yep, you are partially right. Part of it is some of the outflow and bands from Tropical Storm Stan... the rest of it is from easterly onshore flow.
Stan is really a large system... check it out...

I am continuing to get the same conditions I mentioned above!
By the way, I am getting all the characteristics of a feederband INCLUDING THE WIND...

*BUMP*
This is a very interesting thread, I feel.
Right now, outside my house, it feels similar to going through Rita's and Katrina's feederbands, with some breaks in between with sonewhat loghter skies and less wind and a lighter, more drizzly rain, which is what it feels like right now... a slight break from the activity before another shower (feederband) comes through...

Yep... the rain (and the wind) are letting up (calming) in my area as well. Now it is more of a drizzle (lull) and lighter winds outside my house... just like a lull between feederbands (squalls/showers) in a tropical system. That pattern has been playing out in my area today.
Do you agree?

Wow... the sun is coming out in my area too... just when you said the sun is coming out in your area!
Yep, the rain is over in my area... temporarily. More showers will likely later arrive, and the pattern will repeat itself.
