Numerous Fires Are Breaking Out Around New Orleans

#1 Postby skysummit » Sun Oct 02, 2005 10:36 pm

Just in...

WDSU, New Orleans, has is reporting that numerous fires are breaking out across New Orleans. They're saying it's property owners who are returning home, seeing the damage, and are not satisfied at what they see. They are burning down their own homes in order to collect a total loss....UNBELIEVABLE.

I don't know all the facts though...this is just what I caught on the news break.

What? Has anyone told these individuals that arson is a crime punishable by a jail sentence and fines... Not to mention the Insurance fraud? Fire investigators know how to investigate these things and will know when someone deliberately sets fire to a structure... Geez this is the dumbest thing I have heard yet!!!

Its as if NO suffered a direct hit without a direct hit Katrina was a Hurricane that had einstein's IQ she destroyed NO by water instead of levee breches with surge on top plus the wind(worst case scenario).she broke the levee and the water flowed in on its own without a direct hit.remember the media saying "NO dodged the Bullet"that bullet came in the form of toxic mold

If it's a destroyed house, what difference does it make? Considering what's growing inside some of them, I'd burn mine too. And collect on homeowners insurance instead of flood insurance I didn't have. Ooops. Not suggesting anything.

Of course, not a good idea to be burning houses willy-nilly, but this is probably the least of their problems in NOLA. Unless it really catches on.

Talk about being dumb..good grief, those areas have been surveyed by air, by satellite, and by drive-by observations. The insurance companies know what their losses are.To try to gain more by fraud is pushing it a bit too much, IMO.

This may have nothing to do with arson or fraud. People are moving back and there is no electricity so they may be having fires from using alternate fuels.

Some are also seeing fires from natural gas leaks as power and utilities are turned back on. I don't think we should jump to conclusions without proof that they all are arson fires, although some of them may be.

In Miami with Andrew, a number of houses caught on fire when the power went back on.
