Cold Front Coming Through

#1 Postby Nalora » Mon May 19, 2003 7:30 am

Morning in Oklahoma has us at 65 degrees with a light wind from the south here in the central part of the state. Checking the Noaa national radar I see the cold front is already bringing some thunderboomers to the states north of me, and checking the Oklahoma Mesonet I can see that the front has made it into the panhandle.

Looks to me that it will meet the "heating of the day" here in central Oklahoma, so I see the chance of storms is pretty high for me this afternoon. It wont have the dry line with it, as that will be moving down to the south through central Texas and may cause them folks to worry some, with the same bow type storms they had the other night when the dry line traveled south with the last Low.

Good news is, I still have my neighbor's digital, so If I see some big Jiffy pop cumulonimbus stuff building this time, I can post some shots of them if they build at the right place... won't be near as impressive as those that swirl around a crossing Low, but we will take what we can get.

Going to be out in the garden most of the day doing some weeding and watering. Surely do wish God would water my garden today, since He does a much better job of it then me.

Looks like this won't be a major svr. wx. event as the winds in the upper levels aren't very strong and appear to be undirectional. Hail looks to be the major threat.
