You never know!!

#1 Postby azsnowman » Sat May 17, 2003 2:30 pm

The paper just arrived "LATE!" I couldn't believe my eyes, another VERY good friend of mine is in critical condition  I've known Rick for over 30 years, we played football together, baseball way back in high school! Please say a little prayer for him, he's in ICU in a drug induced coma

Here's the link to his story

I'm so sorry Dennis. Prayers going up right now for him. Sounds like his excellent physical condition prior to this may save his life.

Thank you once again for your prayers and concerns. Rick is a *special guy*! Growing up on the reservation was different, I mean being a white guy with Native American blood in me, made it difficult at first, then after a few years, I was made to feel like I was one of them, I learned to speak Apache and understand it very well. Rick took me *under his wing* and treated me like a brother. Yes, we played sports together BUT we also partied, at times, like there was no tomorrow!!

I can't even begin to imagine how BAD the pain must have been when he walked out to the chopper, my WORST fear is to be burned to death!! My God, just a *little burn* on your fingers, hand from cooking is enough to send me to the ER "LOL!" but to have 3rd ° burns over 40% of your body!!!

Dennis I am so sorry to hear about your friend! I also have a big fear of burns (I had 3rd degree burns on my left hand that required plastic surgery when I was about 7 yrs old, and I remember the pain very clearly, and that was just my hand)

I will be praying for your friend to make a full and speedy recovery.

The article stated that he will remain in this drug induced coma anywhere from a month to maybe 2 months. I talked to one of his brothers, Russell, this afternoon after church, said he was in bad shape, Russell went down to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale Friday for a visit, they've got Rick on life support while he's in the coma, said his face is really burnt, I can't imagine!

So sorry about your friend :( Just wondering, but was this why you put up the assisted suicide thread? or is this new?

No, this is new, this happened after I posted the suicide thread or should I say, I found out about this after the fact.
