Highest cluds/lowest temperature?

What the hack is the temperature of those cloud tops off the W cost of Mexico? (see IR floater:
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT ... IR4/20.jpg)

Looks like the highest points are red, surrounded by black (-90)? Did the scale overflow, or a warmer air has been dragged really high? How high?
