The pictures with the music are so moving! THIS is the kind of thing that needs to be shown throughout the country. The power of Mother Nature at its best and worst!

Wonderful job, DH. I especially like the particular pics you intentionally matched up with the appropriate lyrics - not the least of which is the scene of the Biloxi Lighthouse. Not an easy job, I know, but one that is truly inspiring. I too have been from N.O. to Mobile, and at the southern end of all three coastal counties. Our Gulf Coast is something that even we can't recognize - it simply boggles the mind. From this point on, life and things here will be so obviously different than they were before August 29. Be that good or bad, only time will tell...

Thank you so much for putting this together. For me, at least, it really hit home!! The link has been emailed to all my family and friends here on the coast.

You are certainly welcome. It was a time consuming beast to get the
right pictures queued in at the right times, but it was well worth it in
the long run. The Biloxi Lighthouse and Jackson Square - two of the
few things that survived.

I know I might sound hokey, but those two buildings could be symbols of the Gulf Coast's undying spirit and determination to rebuild after all this. And you are to be commended for putting this together. Thank you.

People are seeing your production DH. My daughter who is 6th grade wanted the link this morning to share with her teacher and classmates at school. My sister in law who also works at a school has the link also, so you can bet that many many people will see your work. Lets hope that it travels far beyond our area and that people all over this nation will be touched by it.

It's not hokey at all - that's exactly why I put those two pictures in there.

The Biloxi Lighthouse has survived Camille, Katrina, and countless other
hurricanes over the years. Ditto for Jackson Square in New Orleans.

That's good to hear, I want this message to get out. People need to
understand the gravity of this situation.

I made a couple of minor changes in the video - I eliminated some
duplicate images.

Dave. I can burn DVD's of this if you want.

I know I am going to make myself a DVD.

If enough people want a copy, with David's permission (and Kid Rock's), I could make them.

I don't have a lot to do nowdays........ Katrina saw to that. At least I saved this computer.

I still get that surreal feeling whenever I view pics from the Gulf Coast.

I have to agree, and I'm one of the photogs who covered it.

I've been in Iraq, Bosnia, Chechnya, you name it...nothing will ever top New Orleans. Simply unreal, the most surreal thing I've ever seen or done.

Blogged it at http://www.UKWeatherworld.co.uk (link off the front page, scroll down)

Have a bunch of pixs there from the search and rescue ops we were doing. Have a book proposal in front of one publisher and getting set to send more out tomorrow. Shot tons of video as well and will be cutting a documentary. Probably going to miss Wilma just to stay and work on all of it (highly unusual for me).

TV and even stills just can't convey the magnitude of the infrastructure damage that was done. It brought everything to a snails pace.
