Bouy 42056 has WSW winds at 13.6 knots - pressure 1006.5mb.

Seems like there's a healthy closed circulation over western Cuba.

I see a well defined area of low pressure, moving east-northeastward just north of the tip of Cuba. Convection is south of the cirulation.

IF it develops ( a big if) it may take a similar track as Irene did in 1999.

Satellite shows a well defined cirualtion forming moving along the northern Cuba coast. Earlier this year I would be going crazy for a upgrade of it. Data from surface buoys show it is at the surface. This could get interesting.

Nice band moving north, approaching the Keys. No sign of any spin on Key West radar so far, though (extreme long range is looking at 15000 - 20000 feet, though).

HUSH! We do not need ANYTHING at all forming by the Yucatan or Honduras this season.

If it does, we'll get plastered on the West Coast!

Yup. :D Drought severity is lessened a bit.
For those who don't know, Tampa Bay had its hottest and driest summer
on record; heavy rains today though added some good soaking.

Thankfully it is just rain and there is no wind or
surge to worry about :D

we are definately in for some flooding in my area if we get anymore heavy fast rains. Today driving home one major road into our area- the drainage on the side is all but full - won't take much to spill it over into the main roadway unless we get a good break! just north of WPB

Artist, where do you live?
We haven't received much in Tampa yet. We need 3-5 inches. That would be good. Doesn't look like it will happen. Things seem to be shifting east.
