Heartbreaking. I visited a patient yesterday in Gulfport that had 4 ft of water in his 1 story home. He and his wife just hung on to each other for hours till the water went down. He said his wife kept asking if they were going to die and he could not tell her. The water was up to his wife's chin when it finally started to go down and he was not strong enough to get her on a table on counter. We both cried. I have seen more devastation than I ever hope to see but am required to continue with my job. So sad.

I think all of these videos ought to be required viewing. Only the most hard-bolied cynic would fail to be moved by what Katrina did. It makes me realize that it doesn't matter whether she was a Category 3 or 4, she displaced so many people and caused so much suffering.......

I hope everyone on Storm2k who is itching for another 2005 storm takes the time to watches these movies and pays close attention to each and every scene. Folks we don't need another storm this year. We've had enough.

Realizing this thread is a little old, I am wondering if anyone knows how - or to where - I can post a ~10-minute video of Katrina's approach and surge, upclose and personal from the Beau Rivage Parking Garage in Biloxi. The video is AWESOME, especially for anyone who has driven south into Biloxi via the I-110 loop onto Highway 90 near the lighthouse. You'll see some amazing footage of the loop going under - and that's only a bit of the rest!! That water coming in is beyond words!!!

Anybody got some server space, or a suggestion on where I could upload this file so everybody can see it?
