This is why I recently enquired about the value of the MJO.
Okay, I know the MJO is only one of a number of factors but Wilma became a Cat 5 (with the lowest pressure ever recorded in an Atlantic hurricane, to boot) smack dab in the middle of a very negative MJO. What gives?

How do agree with Jason? He considered the season a bust after oct 1 and it sure wasnt! The strongest hurricane in atlantic basin formed in october.
