To be fair they forecast that only if it manages to go through the strait of Gibralter without hitting land.

Can this be moved to the off topic forum. Absolutly nothing to do with the tropics.

EDIT: To take the II out of the harrier part, as it doesnt have a nose radar bump...

Those are some of the most amazing aircraft that exist today. Really fun to watch take off.

Here is what they are being phased out by: USMC-Multi-role Short Take-Off & Vertical Landing (STOVL) strike fighter to replace AV-8B and F/A-18A/C/D. The Marine variant distinguishes itself from the other variants with its short takeoff/vertical landing capability.

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/jsf.htm Its known as the Joint Strike Fighter... (JSF)

I think the Boeing one looks more high-tech, but if these are replacing the F/A-18s, then I better get used to that Lockheed design.

yep, but no matter what, the AV-8B (Widow Maker is the AV-8A and the early AV-8B) will always be my favorite plane... I love those planes, and I know more about them than most people as my dad worked on them in the USMC... :D

I can see JB doing the tropics report for Jupiter now. Remember that swirl I mentioned last month south of the Jupiter equator folks? Well, make no mistake about it this one is THE ONE. I'm estimating CAT 200 winds around 800 knots and since the shear is only 100 knots which is light this storm is moving into a favorable environment under a high pressure methane cloud. I expect this storm to last about 750 earth years and hit everything in it's path. I also expect another comet to strike Jupiter sometime in the future and generate another super-duper-mega-clone. Those rockheads at NASA say it will miss by 10,000 miles but in my book that's to close to call and if it does hit remember you heard it here first. Tomorrow it's time to talk about those swirls on Saturn.

This is not a laughing matter if this is real. Things are going to change big time at best.

Calm down; pictures like this have been showing up for 40 years now. Real or not.
